Without using cliche representation of forms, Arabinda Samanta,a very talented artist who explored characteristics of the great metropolitan city Mumbai in a very novel manner and tried to unearth a new dimension with great creative urge which anyone can realize in his works. As the title of this show ' Decoded Two Decades Mumbai ' defines its connection in itself with the spirit of Mumbai and decodes it's character holistically with panoramic vision. His creative perception unfolds the massive galaxy of glittering imaginations amalgated with the river of emotions of those who live here with untiring passion , unfettered enthusiasm, rigorous struggle for livelihood in hectic hustle - bustle , cosmopolitan culture with the ease of friendly atmosphere where anyone can strive for his dreams.
Arabinda Samanta, through his creations emerges with the gravity of Mumbai's spirit with meticulous observations and subtle realizations he encounters in every situation around him in mega city like Mumbai. Very honestly he tried to adhere his own inner voice to create exquisite works with impulsive imageries. More or less , one can make out that images in his works being incomplete creates the sense of completeness ; somewhere partly it merges with the backdrop to evolve pathos with mysticism. Along with many metaphorical elements he uses some symbols to express his emotions about his subject with subtle subjectivity. The whole lot of paintings justifies his sincere attempt and signifies his concept of Mumbai .
