Sheila K is a creative artist based in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, and has been painting now for many years.

Sheila’s paintings are many hued-covering various themes: from Lord Ganesh, to flowers to landscapes and spiritualism.  For her, painting is about communion with Nature and she feels best when immersed in her art.  As expressed by her, “painting for me, is about meditation and spirituality”.

Painting Lord Ganesh Came to Sheila out of the proverbial blue.  One day, staring at a blank paper on the easel and wondering what to paint next, her brush and knife strokes created a beautiful Ganesh.  It was a stressful time for her and Lord Ganesh being the remover of obstacles, revealed Himself to her in her painting.  From that day there was no looking back, and every one of her paintings of Lord Ganesh has a unique individuality and character.

Sheila works with acrylic, oil and mixed media on canvas and paper.  Her paintings vary from intense bright hued pieces to quiet sublime ones, each having a personality of its own, reflecting love.  Through her expressive strokes and use of colour her paintings attempt to convey her innermost meditative visuals.

Her paintings are in private collections in the USA, Canada, India and East Africa.

With her latest exhibition in Mumbai from January 20th to the 25th 2014

“The Many Hues of Lord Ganesh”

She hopes to showcase her art to the discerning art lovers of Mumbai.
