26th August 2013 to 31st August 2013 (11.00 am to 7.00 pm)

Ajay Garg has overcome his physical handicap to emerge as an internationally renowned artist in painting Indian Miniatures.

At the tender age of three, an injection for treating an injury reacted adversely, and Ajay lost his speech and hearing faculties. Ajay has tremendous focus and internal vision that is expressed through his paintings despite being deaf and mute. Ajay does the same for Indian art that the famous blind Indian poet Surdas did for poetry. These paintings have exquisite detail, including some that are completed with a single-hair brush and the use of a magnifying lens. Recently, Ajay specializes in producing these fine miniature figures on a kernel of rice or an almond. His exhibits are seen throughout the world, including India, UK and the USA. Ajay is also actively involved in welfare of the Deaf community and gives free training to hearing impaired children in Jaipur, India.

What Ajay hopes for more is recognition as an artist and not as a handicapped person who has fought and won. At the same time, he wants to spread the message of hope and inspiration to millions who like Ajay, have the potential to accomplish something exceptional in their life.
