About the exhibition
This exhibition comprises of my paintings of one and half decade. As the title indicates, the works relate to the holy and the oldest city of the world ‘Benaras’ and the works in various places depicting the scenario of violence trodden, naxalite tribal areas of our country. The viewers may may also have look of the transiting movement of modern civilization movement of modern civilization referring to metropolitan city ‘Mumbai’ which I have chosen my ‘karmbhoomi’. If a viewer spends sometime with any one of the paintings, he or she may probably develop dialogue with the iconic images. the artist wants the art lover and the class of intelligentsia develop an empathy towards so far poor neglected jungle dwellers."
